Join us for a ceremony with the NJ Historical Commission to celebrate the installation of the Black History Trail marker.
Following the ceremony, embark on a walking tour through Haddonfield’s lesser-known yet deeply significant African-American heritage. The Preserving Black Haddonfield History Project Pre-Juneteenth Walking Tour offers a unique opportunity to explore 12 carefully selected sites that celebrate the lives, contributions, and legacies of the town’s Black residents, their descendants, local businesses, and community institutions. This program is more than a walk, it’s a step toward deeper understanding and recognition.
This tour illuminates Haddonfield’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by recognizing a vital yet historically overlooked part of the town’s story. Whether you're a longtime resident or a visitor, we invite you to experience Haddonfield through a new lens that celebrates its full and shared history. It’s great family entertainment!!!
Starting Point: The Point at Ellis and Potter St.
Produced in collaboration with Haddonfield Plays & Players. Haddonfield Education Association and Haddonfield Foundation funding.
Waitlisted attendees will receive advance notice of the next walking tour.
