The Birth of Merlin: or The Child Hath Found His Father is a satirical examination of Arthurian mythology. Irreverent in style, full of brash and bawdy humor and innuendo.  We follow the adventures of Joan Go-to-‘t and her brother the Clown as they try to discover who is the father of her soon to be born son - Merlin. She never got her paramour’s name but she remembers he had “most excellent hangers.”  Thus, Merlin anticipates by 400 years what Mel Books did with the Frankenstein legend in his masterwork Young Frankenstein.  Poking fun at classics is upsetting to some, but we hope we will be forgiven along with Mr. Rowley and Mr. Shakespeare.
