Program Description

Event Details

Step back in time as we kick off our reading challenge with a lively, history-filled celebration! Meet costumed reenactors, craft your own tricorner hat, and learn basic marching drills before joining a spirited march to the Library to share our first book (weather permitting). This interactive event brings history to life and launches our reading challenge with hands-on fun for the whole family.

We will meet at the Indian King Tavern Museum and march to the Library (weather dependent).

Additional Information

Accompanying Adults

This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child in this program. Drop-offs will not be permitted.

Age Groups

Age ranges are selected with great care. A young child unable to participate in an activity without assistance takes the staff member's attention away from the rest of the group and can impact the experience of the other participants. We also strive to create micro-communities with each program we offer by creating a space for young people to be with their peers. We ask that you respect the age groups in the program descriptions.

Photo Permission

Event staff may take photos or videos during programs and activities. These images may be used for publicity, social media, websites, or other promotional materials. If you prefer not to have your photo used, please note that in the comments or inform a staff member, and we will honor your request. For questions or concerns, please contact Cathy DeCampli at cdecampli@haddonfieldlibrary.org.
