In honor of May is Mental Health Month, South Jersey Psychological Association has invited speakers to bring public awareness to various aspects of mental health. Join us for casual panel presentations followed by discussion where experts in the field will share their insights and provide helpful tips.

Dr. Boland is a board certified behavioral sleep medicine specialist and licensed psychologist. As former assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Boland conducted federally funded research on the links between sleep disruption and mood in older adults and women experiencing perimenopause. She worked for over a decade for the Department of Veterans Affairs providing behavioral sleep treatments to veterans with insomnia and led nationwide trainings in behavioral sleep medicine.
Dr. Maggie Edwards is a licensed clinical psychologist currently providing outpatient therapy at a practice in Cherry Hill, NJ. Dr. Edwards specializes in eating disorders, body image, anxiety disorders, trauma, and relational issues. Dr. Edwards also has several years' experience working in college settings at Marywood University and Drexel University supporting students with the adjustment from adolescence to young adulthood. Dr. Edwards takes a multicultural and integrative approach to the psychotherapy process.
Laurie Appel, Psy.D is a NJ and PA licensed psychologist with over 30 years of experience. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a doctoral degree from Widener/Hahnemann Universities and a post-doctoral certification in Structural Family Therapy. Dr. Appel is proud to have served over the years as a consultant for the Philadelphia Police Department as well as for residential and rehabilitation facilities for teenagers and for older adults. Presently, she maintains a busy private practice in Swedesboro, NJ and presents to various audiences in public and in print. On her free time, Dr. Appel and her husband volunteer with FurEver as Friends pet therapy program with their therapy dogs, Golden Retrievers Oliver and Bailey (a rescued pet), and with Ronald McDonald House. Dr. Appel is also an avid crocheter, plays piano, and participates in ballroom dancing.
